There is a new trend in what we eat, or perhaps I should say, how often we eat.  This popularity is due to the fact that it helps people lose weight without having to deal with the effects of actual hunger.  It also helps in reducing the risk of chronic diseases like diabetes, cancer and heart disease.

  What is this new trend?  "Intermittent fasting" or IF is the name of the game.

  Intermittent fasting is not really new.  In fact, IF goes back to our original ancestors.  This is an eating strategy inscribed in our DNA, as our ancestors practiced the short eating program.  He really had no choice in the matter.  We did not yet have the frequency and ease of access to food.

  This new strategy towards food is not about giving up food.  This fast is about spending as much time as possible in the state.

  The best way to define any type of fast is to consider it simply a change in eating patterns.  In the case of IF, replacing three square meals a day, or eating a handful of small meals a day, is a window of time when we are allowed to dine.  This may take the form of a few hours, or a fasting window may represent a few days of the week.  During that time, we can eat whatever we want - for sure.

  Taking out our "eating window", allows our brains to align with our bodies so that we can understand what hunger actually feels like.

  IF is not about being hungry.  Fasting does not mean being hungry, but it is also not a diet.  The literal definition is:

  "Avoiding food and drink during a specific period of time."

  IF is about eating two meals a day instead of three (or multiples), during which you introduce a 16-hour fasting period.  You can choose to have breakfast and lunch or lunch and dinner, and it is proving to be a powerful approach to eating.

  The Western world spends less time in a state of fasting.  True hunger is something that we should experience every 16-24 hours, not every four hours as we are accustomed to it.  For most, continuous grazing is from morning to evening, and even late at night for some people.

  If anyone who has processed foods such as chips around their diet will not work.  Fasting requires us to live with the most complete food, rich in vegetables, lean protein, healthy carbohydrates and fats in order to experience the best and quick benefits of IF.  The two meals chosen for the day should be full of nutrition and perfectly balanced.

  It is estimated that in today's modern world one in two people are obese or overweight and millions of people are dying from this truth.  IF helps to manage body weight and is also a powerful tool in the life extension field.

  By the time you have breakfast late at night, you probably already include a form of IF in your schedule, fasting for about 12 hours daily.  However, current research suggests that prolonged fasting is required to realize some of the benefits of IF, as long as 20–24 hours depending on the level of activity.

  IF in reads like a laundry list of the proposed benefits of animals and humans like "looking better," "feeling better," and "living longer" ...

  Having a limited eating window makes it much less difficult to stop calories.  IF is actually one of the simplest strategies for losing fat weight and keeping good weight (muscle tissue) and requires very little change in behavior.
